We work directly with some of the best farmers in Australia, building relationships with producers who share our passion for sustainable, ethical farming. From the clean, green pastures of Tasmania to the marbled Wagyu beef of the Riverina, we select only meats that meet our uncompromising standards of quality and taste.
All our grass-fed beef is free from artificial growth hormones and carefully dry-aged between 30 and 42 days to intensify flavour and tenderness. Every steak on our menu is chosen for its character, richness, and depth.

What is Macelleria Bondi Beach?
Macelleria Bondi Beach is a butcher-led steakhouse on Campbell Parade, opposite Bondi Beach. You choose your cut at the butcher’s counter, and the kitchen grills it to order. The menu also has burgers, grilled fish, salads and sides. We’re open 7 days for lunch and dinner, and no booking is needed.
Who owns Macelleria Bondi?
Macelleria Bondi is independently owned and run by Andy Anthony and Matt Rimmer, both long-time Bondi locals who live in near the restaurant with their families. The Bondi store opened in 2012 and still works directly with Australian farmers who share our standards for grass-fed, ethically raised beef.
What makes Macelleria different from other steakhouses?
We’re a butcher first. Our butchers prepare every cut on site, and all steaks are aged 4 to 6 weeks. You see the meat before it’s cooked, and you pay counter prices.

Do I need to book?
No. Macelleria Bondi is walk-in only, and our staff will find you a table. Dinner peaks between 6.15 and 7.45 in summer, so arrive outside of this window to secure the best tables. If you have a large group of 8+ you can call ahead and ask us to hold a table for you.
Can you take large groups?
We have over 115 seats and a number of large tables and walk-in groups of up to 16 people are welcome. For bigger groups or events, call 0473 947 834 before you visit and we’ll plan the seating with you.
Is Macelleria Bondi halal?
Three of the steaks in our range are halal certified – Portoro Delmonico, New York Strip, Eye Fillet – these are certified by M. Ibrahim of the Australian Halal Accreditation Authority.
Is Macelleria family-friendly?
Yes. Families with kids eat here every day. We have high chairs, and the small cuts, sausages and chicken skewers from $4.50 suit younger eaters. The casual beachside setting means nobody minds a bit of noise.
Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are welcome at our outdoor tables. Bring your dog along after a walk on the beach and sit outside on Campbell Parade. Our staff can provide a bowl of water for your thirsty dog. Assistance dogs are allowed inside.
